DO NOT DISTURB POLICY BY MTN (MTN DND)

The DO-NOT-DISTURB (DND) policy was activated by all network providers after the directive of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

The policy was meant to restrict sending unsolicited messages to subscribers. These messages vary from request to download, to subscription to unwanted services and other messages to take part in a competition.

Ordinarily, the policy shouldn’t be so rigid because customers are supposed to opt in or out. For some reasons, MTN subscribers are not giving this free will.

MTN DND

This is because MTN in their implementation automatically added subscribers to DND. Especially those who had at one time or the other registered a complaint with their customer service regarding unwanted messages.

In order words, about 80% of MTN subscribers are on DND.

This action leads to many subscribers forced not to receive SMS messages even from where they have legitimately subscribed.

How to resolve messed up DND service (MTN Subscribers ONLY).

Step 1. REGISTER HERE, we have been able to bypass MTN DND. We assure you that your recipients will get their messages.

Step 2. Send ‘STOP’ to 2442, wait for the response from the GSM network, waiting for instruction is very important.
In this case, you have activated the DO –NOT- DISTURB service on your phone line.

Step 3. Send ‘ALLOW’ to 2442 and wait for the response.
Once you get the second response, your MTN line is ready to receive messages.
